About Us

Our story:

Founded by Jay and Jennifer Wissman shortly after their daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of six, they realized this was just a waypoint of their family’s journey.

Instead of allowing their circumstances to control their life, they decided to embrace the change and continue to move forward, living life to the fullest. They found that any time they were close to the ocean they were able to reflect on how beautiful life is and find peace.

As a result, Waypoint South was born in Wilmington, North Carolina. 

A portion of all purchases will go to ocean conservation and type 1 diabetes research.
